Today is a particularly sad day for The Angry Rant, as it marks the first day that we don’t get to wake up to The Adam Carolla Show. Since 2006, Carolla has been manning the airwaves on the west coast to fill the void left by Howard Stern after he took off to satellite radio. Each and every morning, Adam, along with Teresa Strasser and Bald Bryan, spent four hours of their day to make us laugh, make us cry, and most importantly, they make us think.
His “Do Yourself a Favor” segments dish out common sense advice to solve life’s simple problems, while “Made Up Movie” convinced us all that maybe, just maybe, coming up with a good idea for a movie isn’t that hard. Personally, I can’t wait to see “Rave Doctor.”
Although we didn’t join the TACS bandwagon until late 2007, thanks to the infinitely priceless technology of podcasting, we were nonetheless influenced tremendously by Adam. His common sense view of the world, coupled with his seemingly limitless wit and candor influenced all of us here at TAR.
Although we strive to have our own voice here since The Angry Rant debuted in print form in 2006, we have still been shaped as a result of his rants on anything and everything. Ace has his fingerprints all over the place, despite the fact that we’ve never met, never spoken, and he probably has no idea of our existence.

Thanks for the memories, Ace.
Nonetheless, when news came down that KLSX, the home station of TACS, was changing formats and that they would no longer be carrying TACS, it hit us like a ton of bricks, because frankly, and quite literally, we listen to Adam in some form every single day. To be honest, it feels like one of my closest friends is moving away. He has impacted us on a daily basis, and caused us to ask ourselves “What would Adam think about this.”
There is a silver lining, however. Today also marks the launch of his podcast, wherein he will continue on with The Adam Carolla Show by means of the same technology that allowed us here at The Angry Rant to follow him on a daily basis.
This is your job, readers.
Head on over to www.CarollaRadio.com and check it out. It’s free, it won’t take up much of your day, and you’ll learn something.
Head on over to YouTube.com and check out The Adam Carolla Project, which aired on TLC in 2005. It’s must-see.
Head on over to Amazon.com and buy The Hammer, a somewhat semi-autobiographical movie about Adam’s life. It stars Carolla as Jerry Ferro, a boxer-turned-carpenter-turned-boxer again who takes one more shot at Olympic glory. It’s funny, it’s smart, it’s romantic, it’s feel-good, and it’s one of the best movies you’ll see.
Check out these moments from TACS: Adam vs. Gloria Allred and Adam hanging up on Anne Coulter, and a classic story from the Loveline days.
But most importantly, (again) head on over to CarollaRadio.com and support Adam Carolla on his quest to make the world better, one left-turn arrow at a time.
Some view him as crass, some view him as vulgar, we view him as genius. And without him, we would be half of what we are now.
Thanks for the memories, Ace.
